What to do with an old furniture?

January 6, 2009
You may want to refinish that old furniture. But before you refinish, you need to check first a number of things. For example you may need to check some marks and labels that might suggest about the origins of the piece. You also need to look at the overall quality of the wood used and the craftsmanship like carvings. Then here is the biggest tip; if the antique piece in your possession is considered as highly valuable then you might want to leave that piece alone. And if you are really interested to tweak and upgrade the looks of the furniture then you should leave the job to a professional. There will always be a professional that can work with these high end pieces of furniture. Ask around and ask a museum curator so that he can lead you to the right person.
