Colors and Apparent Temperature

December 15, 2008
Colors have different characteristics. You can perceive them as warm or cool. Or even neutral. Warm colors are psychologically connected with happiness and human comfort. These are capable of creating warm, inviting and cozy feelings. These colors are red, magenta, orange, and yellow-green hues. Although they are considered as complementing, they are often tedious and mind-numbing not to mention that they can also speed up the perception of our time. However, they can also combine with balancing cool shades. On the other hand, cool colors can create spaces that look slick and professional and their coolness clams feelings. They also recede into the distance which will make them ideal for backgrounds. These colors are violet, blue, light blue, cyan. And green. Without variety, their design will look like lackluster and dull. Neutral colors are usually feature undertones that are not really neutral most especially when they are affected by lightning. These are black, white, gray and brown. There are other colors that lack contrasting depth and grow wearisome.Contact your furniture stores for ideas.
